Our Story Begins with Our Purpose.

For over two decades we've been carrying out our mission to revitalize rural America while enabling people to see and go beyond their difficult circumstances toward a better way of live.

It was for this purpose that Onshore Outsourcing was founded in Macon, Missouri in 2005.

Even from its humble beginnings, Onshore had an audacious goal...

To revitalize Rural America, while lifting people out of generational poverty.

We saw three problems in the IT services space that needed to be solved:

  • IT salaries were skyrocketing, as were the bill rates of traditional U.S.-based service providers
  • Driven to contain cost, enterprise turned to offshore providers only to be hampered by language barriers, time-zone gaps, high-turnover rates, quality issues and intellectual property and export control concerns.
  • There was an entire swath of rural America, 60 million people strong, that had been completely overshot by the economic prosperity and opportunities brought by the IT economy. Rural America was in decline, in large part, due to the global outsourcing of manufacturing jobs.

It was against this backdrop, and with a clear purpose, that Onshore was founded.

At the heart of Onshore Outsourcing is its "Rural Outsourcing" model, a process whereby its workforce operates from its delivery centers in Rural America.

  • To make rural outsourcing work, the company developed innovative approaches to workforce development, team structures, facility layout, and delivery models.
  • Onshore's approach to rural outsourcing retools under-employed and dislocated workers to become IT professionals.

In this way, Onshore has been revitalizing rural America, lifting people out of generational poverty, and creating a new middle class in the small towns we call home.

"To help people see beyond their current situation toward a better way of life. To provide opportunities for people to experience the hope & dignity that comes from having an honorable profession."

Our Purpose:

Over the years, Onshore grew as it solved massive challenges for Fortune 2000 clients such as:

These enterprises and many small businesses have benefitted from Onshore's rural outsourcing model providing:

  • A cost-effective alternative to offshore outsourcing and traditional U.S.-based service providers
  • An alternative to offshore outsourcing with minimal communication and adoption barriers using a low-cost, stable, rural workforce with very low turnover.
  • An outsourcing solution that customers feel good about. A solution that lifts rural Americans out of generational poverty and crucially, a solution that allows clients to work with people they like, understand, trust, and can depend on.

Twenty years later, Onshore has positively impacted over 5,000 Americans and is still fiercely dedicated to its mission of revitalizing rural America providing life-changing careers to Americans.
